Mae Ody
My style of teaching is:
Deliberate, as we go through the session every movement is an experience to be felt, connected, grounded, vulnerable, strong… Ultimately feeling more deeply connected to your body, your being, and daily life.
In my teaching, I draw inspiration from…
My clients, students, my own body and experience, Hatha Yoga, Pilates, meditation, and therapeutic movement.
What lineage/s have you trained in?
Classical Hatha Yoga, under Sadhguru.
A 21-week residential teacher training program at the Isha Yoga Center in Southern India, certified in 1750 plus hours.
Meditation based in the Vedic Lineage. Trained in the Certified 1 Giant Mind Being Technique under Jonni Pollard. Jonni has shown me how to gracefully bridge the traditional to the modern.
Pilates, certified through Well Body Pilates-based out of Nashville, TN. Training in Classical, as well as contemporary Pilates.
My knowledge and inspiration comes from many instructors in the field. As well as working with many different types of bodies over the years.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me…
Spending time in nature, from a backpacking trip to playing in my garden… Enjoying music, cooking and eating healthy yummy foods, traveling, or just chilling on the couch watching a good film with my husband Oscar.
